I am a first time stay at home mom. I have a one month who was born 6 weeks early. All he does is eat and sleep. When he is sleeping I am so lonely and bored home alone. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep busy?? I feel like I'm in prison because it is so hard to take my baby anywhere and the only place to really go is stores, and I don't have money to buy anything.

I have a two week old who was born 5 weeks early... and he does just about the same.

I clean... then sit here and chat... occasionally go watch t.v.... look at the clock (waiting for hubby to get home, lol).... today I tried putting Josh in his swing (he's too small).... then tried his carrier (again, too small)... I started a detailed chart of how much Josh is eating and when for his doctor (all drawn out on a pretty little chart and decorated with doodles)... and sometimes I load him up in a stroller and walk to the AA meeting up the street....

I know that doesn't help at all... but I completely know how you feel. They tell you that you wont have time to shower - and then with a preemie it's like they aren't even in the land of the living most of the day anyhow. I have to wake Josh up for most of his feedings still.

I know you feel like you cant do anything but it gets easier, and in the mean time read a book watch a movie take up a hobby like scrapbooking take pictures of your baby and start a album, you will see its not all bad and when the baby gets older it is more fun you can play with them and take them for walks or to the park.
