I am so excited. I have been to the science museum many times with the kids. But tomorrow hubby and I are going with friends to the big art museum and we are making a day of it. I know many of you are art lovers. I can not wait because I think it will be a great experience for me on many levels. What museums have you been to, and what have you experienced?

Freud is interesting to me, I always thought he got just enough right to be dangerous when he got it wrong, of course there was the coke issue, and that can go either way.
I can never get enough of Dali he seemed to have tried to live some of his art as well. I loved that.

I can't be doing with any of that Impressionist stuff though. I don't like that at all.....and I don't like Van Gogh either....I don't know why people rave about him.

I think it was just because he committed suicide that he became popular.

I love it. I love that type of art period. I went to a party Saturday night where there were many artists and everyone agreed their best art was hung in the bathroom. lol

I am a big lover of the French impressionists, Monet, Manet, Renoir. I also love the old poster art Toulouse Lautrec. I have been to the Louvre, the Jeu de Paumes and Claude Monet's home. Fabulous!!!!

I do now Atomic, very recently, before that I would have said I couldn’t. I think you can. You have that type of personality. I am not that talented, I am just artistic. I paint a good one for every four to six I don’t like.
Your whole view on art changes once you begin to paint. Everything you look at changes. Your perception of the world alters. Light and lines become all you can see in everything. Colors and curves.

Oh my gosh I just realized again where you are Atomic, you have all the real stuff. Amazing, again how lucky! Your whole country is a museum anyway.

Then you should do it! I forgot what you play, it was more than one instrument wasn’t it? Do your children play?

*LMAO* I guess........

I used to dodge off college for the afternoon and me and my friend would visit the art gallery :-D

I play and flute and piano, but I can't interest my eldest son......Toddles has asked about the piano....my MIL has one and he enjoyed tinkling on it when we visited. I'm determined that Toddles will have music lessons...his father is musical and so am I, so he's gonna get it! *LMAO*

It's important for children to learn a musical instrument....it's a skill that can give them pleasure throughout their life, but I suppose it can't be forced onto 'em.

I go to galleries near here when people I have met are showing, I am going with an artist tomorrow and a gallery owner, so that will be very enlightening to hear all of our takes on each painting. They are very down to earth people. Not all of them are. Lol I am so new at it all, I am amazed by everything.
You know what was the neatest thing I did was take an autistic student to a gallery and had him give me his impression of each painting. It was AMAZING! I have to go, daughter is home and hubby on the phone. Thanks so much for the chat. I will see you next time.
