Olbi has a black eye...well its not black its purple.... :(((:(((:(((

Its godamn because of that snot pump thingi...he HATES it and twists and turns his head so much that i cant do it..obviously ive knocked it up his nose the wrong way..or something like that. Now he has a godamn tiny little purple bruise in the corner of his eye...FMD!!!!!!!

MY OLBI!!!!!!!! it would feel better if he was old enough to kick my ass for doing that...i think i wont be using that pump anymore..i guess the only good thing about all of this it hasnt effected him..and he is acting normal as per usual.. ♥ this kid

yeah they don't care...they will never remember...i know plenty of kids who have gotton black eyes...fell off places...My first son fell off the couch when he was little..he was fine...he broke his leg when he was 2...he was fine...i think it hurts you more to see it...

is his nose dripping or stuffy? can you just gently wipe it away or something? my kids both hated it too.

You can use saline drops too, to liquify it a little better and make it not so rough to come out. Poor baby!! He'll be okay, he is just all boy!! :)

lol karen. that's how zac was with me when he busted his mouth

it was a package set. It come with the saline drops to loosing the snot ( not like he needed it ) then a blue bulb bottle that you insert into his nose ( holding the blue bottle bulb so there is no air in it ) then slowly let it go ( while holding his other nostril shut ) and it sucks out the snot.

I can do his left nose fine..but the right one he refused to let me do shaking his head left and right..i manged to get it in there 1 or 2 times..but the thing was he was so voilent with his movements i guess its given him a knock around a little bit

i WISH i could just wipe his nose...it sounds horrible if i dont do the nose suckie thing..plus he has trouble having his bottles and wont eat his solids because he cant breathe

he'll be ok. i know it makes you feel awful when they have boo boos. mine is trying to walk and she keeps falling and bumping her head and now has a bruise that's turning that awful yellow-y brown color and it looks awful...she also will NOT hold still for me to clip her nails, so i have to do one at a time and she scratched her nose. she looks like she's been playing hockey.
i have the blue bulb thing too and it's nearly impossible to use it now. she wiggles too much.

Yep that ole bulb sucker is the PITS! I know they invented it for a good reason but I don't think they tried it out before putting it on market, lol.

Exactly - they must have tested it on a dummy or doll : )

ok this may sound mean but i HAD to it with alyssa sometimes because she was the same way. i would have shawn hold her head still and i held her arms with one hand and got the job done really fast! i hated to have to hold her down but it was the only way i could do it since she would flail around like a mad child lol. as long as you keep his head still then it will go alot smoother for both of you. any way you could manage that? maybe somebody there could help you hold him or something?

Nope, that isn't mean at all hdc - sometimes that is the only way to do things (shots, examinations, suppositories, etc). It's easy when they are little but not so easy when they get bigger : (

i had one of my friends the other day hold his head while i could do it, but other then that..no - no one will help me.

So its near impossible

you are sooo right shelbysmom! i can't hold zac down hardly anymore :-( he's a stout little bugger lol. and he runs away from me too :-( makes me so dang mad lol

sorry to hear that sarah. i don't know what else to tell ya on that one. it definitely is hard when it's just you ya know.

ooooh hey...sometimes i have to do this with zac lol...just throw your legs over him and try to keep his arms under your legs too. then you have both hands free! you can hold his head the best you can with one hand and use the other to suck his nose. i'm not sure if you could really though...depends i guess on how big he is now. but it would definitely be worth a shot

Name: Shelbysmom01 | Date: Jun 3rd, 2007 4:26 AM
Hdc - yep they are some stout lil buggers! Mine looks really tiny but she can fight off 2 or 3 people holding her!

Sarah - you could also try sitting on the bed with your legs stretched out - lay Olbi (with his head next to you) between your legs. This way you can use your inner thighs to stabilize his head and your lower inner legs to hold his arms. Your hands will be free. Sounds crazy I know but it may work.

i was thinking a few of those options too..only problem is i do NOT realise my strength sometimes..and i do get really frustrated when he is shaking his head like that...and i dont want to push too hard..thats why having someone who is NOT doing the nose sucking is the optimum person to be holding his head..

Hopefully the stuffy nose will dissapear soon..mine is still snuffy..and its still really cold here..might take a week x
