Anyone know the reasons for nappy rash? I give Joey loads of nappy off time, use E45 cream, and he's always in a clean nappy and yet still sporatically he gets nappy rash. And sometimes it gets so bad, he's screaming when I clean him up. People says it's because he's teething, but how could that be related?? ↓

what kind of food is he eating? could it be maybe his poops are agravating his skin?
maybe not dry enough in there? do you use powder?
i know sometimes i'll have forgotten the powder upstairs and i'm lazy...so i just wipe them up and put on a new diaper. and then BAM....red ass!! lol...but if i keep their butts powdered, it stays nice and dry and they don't get sore. ↑ |
maybe he's sensitive to the cream you put on him?
what kind of diapers do you use. i know pampers puts some kind of scent inside the diapers...maybe he's sensitive to that? ↑ |
sensitive to the wipes? do you use unscented, alcohol free hypoallergenic wipes?
maybe you are wiping TOO MUCH????? ↑ |
All the food I provide for him is organic. I bath him every night and use talc powder. But only after his bath. I might start using talc powder after each nappy change.
I do use pampers. But it's only once in a while he gets a rash and when he does get a rash, it's BAD.
I use unscented, alcohol free wipes.
I might try changing nappies ... Didn't think of that, and use powder after each nappy change ... I hate when he's all sore. ↑ |
| yeah..i use powder with EVERY change...if i forget to do it a few times in a row their butts get red and sore...that's when i use the cream...but if i use the powder every time, they never get rashy. just keep it dry in there at all times. ↑ |
| the only times my kids got diaper rash was when teething if I recal right.......and then I would use corn startch!!!!!! yes corn startch! ↑ |
| yes...i use the cornstarch based baby powder. i've never tried talc before. ↑ |
| Teething often causes diarrhea, which causes acid in the stool, which causes diaper rash..... Colin had diaper rash ALL the time.. of course he has eczema also.. menaing he has extra sensitive skin.. His little butt would often bleed..... Nappy off time is fine as long and the underlying germs and bacteria are gone too.. When he was an infant I would take off his diaper give him a bath and actually use the hair dryer on his behind. The hair dryer set on the lowest heat, lowest air setting. and it would clear him right up. Another thing to consider is that it is actually a yeast infection which no amount of cleaning or nappy free time will clear up... He needs a bactostat ointment.... Poor baby. hope he feels better!!! ↑ |
I just thought i should let some of you know for your own babies benefits about useing powder... it actually gets into your babys lungs everytime you use it.. Cream is MUCH better as it wont get into there lungs and do serious harm....
Also teething does give most babies nappy Rash, and im not sure why but it happens lol.... izzy had thrush at 1 point that started off as a little rash then gradually got worse and i couldnt get it to go away !! It was red and raw and extremely painful for her... maybe look into that possibility ??
Also did u change his diapers , wipes ?? ↑ |
He might be teething, thats what happened to tyler, it was soo bad!
I had to go to the dr and get him tons of new meds and stuff for his little butt! poor guy! ↑ |
| I was going to bring up teething as well. Silas never has a diaper rash except for when he's teething. I don't know why but he'll start to get a little bit of one and then BAM a new tooth appears. ↑ |
| It's so strange that teething should cause nappy rash. But Joey's is going back down again thank goodness. ↑ |
| HELLLLOO...... Did anyone read my post? Teething causes extra saliva, which can cause diarreah..... which makes alot of acid which makes diaper rash....... Coat his rear with vaseline everytime you change a poppy diaper.... That is the best and cheapest barrier made...... ↑ |
| Opps I didn't see your post. But yeah that'd make sense. Thanks for the tips. ↑ |
