I am a new mom and a certain topic on some morning shows have caught and held my attention. A doctor being interviewed talked about the dangers in common household chemicals (cleaning supplies etc.) I have a young son and the health affects mentioned in the interview really hit home for me. I started doing some research and have found a lot of alarming facts about things we have in all of our houses. I want to raise awarness. SInce then I have changed all of my cleaning supplies and other things for safer, more natural products. I have found a pretty cost effective way of doing this, but would love to hear what anyone else has to say on this topic. Let me know what information you may have and also I will be happy to share what I have found as well. Thank you! Oh, to get you started I will include some of the most informative sites:

I left my job when I was pregnant because of all the crap they were using to clean my place of work. I was working in a nursing home and they used to spray all this air freshener around instead of cleaning properly. The stuff was choking and I did some research on the internet on what's contained in air freshener. One of the ingredients is a nerve agent along with other horrible things.

I asked them to stop using it as there was no ventilation, but they just laughed at me so I told them where to go, finished my shift and walked out. Never went back. Best thing I did! I was working 12 hour shifts and was worried about my baby. It was horrible thinking about all those chemicals I was inhaling. I'm so glad I left.
