Ok ladies. I am having a big problem. I have a four year old son and on friday he woke up in the middle og=f the night freaking out about spiders. He said they were all over him!! I told him it was ok and there was nothing there. But all he could say was "they are right there mommy right there" and there was nothing there. I thought it was just a night terror but he still freaking out about it and it is getting worse. He rolls up hid pant legs because it is dark under them and he cant see. Most of the time he wants to wear tiny boxers so his legs arent covered. He wants to sit on my lap all day. And he no longer sleeps. I am afraid to take him to the doctor because they will just put him on some medicine that will make him worse or cause a different problem. Any ideas?

You should take him to the doctor. It truly sounds like some sort of phsycosis and I promise I am not saying that to scare you. Is it possible that the dream was so real he thinks it's true or has it been several days since the dream and he is still seeing the spiders? I hope you will bring your son in to see his pediatrician if you don't want your son on meds just say no but you at least should find out what is going on. Let us know.

My grandson had a reoccurence dream of gorilla's chasing him. Eventually it did go away. I am one of those who believe that little people need to have their TV, movies monitored heavily. We have changed the type of play and video intake this little person has. He has grown mentally and intellectually that it has been hard to measure. So please please don't let the TV and movies take the place of human interaction and teachings.

that is so ironic.....about a month ago my son woke up screaming and yelling about spiders. Now he always looks at the ceilings and walls to see if he see's any or he will ask if the spiders went bye-bye. He is almost 3 and has such an imagination. I just tell him that the spiders did go bye-bye and not to worry, they will not hurt him. He hasnt really talked about spiders lately, but im sure they, if not something else, will come up sooner or later.

That is really crazy. He had another episode last night before we had a chance to wake him. But it wasnt as bad. He was telling me he could see all the spider traps. So I think from telling him so much that he is bigger and that I threw all the spiders in the toilet. That it is changing his tramtic dreams. I hope so!!
