I was wondering if any of you have toddlers who have suffered a sprain? I think my daughter's wrist might be sprained, she is 17 months old.

Last night as we came into our house I had her by the hand and all of a sudden she pulled down to get away from me and i didnt let go of her hand...at this time i heard a 'pop' and she began crying nonstop (she rarely cries). I freaked out and took her to the night clinic where they took some x-rays and said there was no fracture. They said if she wasnt back to normal by today to take her back and they would refer me to an orthopedic.

Well last night she cried every time she moved her wrist. She basically stayed in the same position all night long to avoid the pain, my poor baby. And this morning the same...she wont use her right hand for anything...she's doing everything with her left and any movement with her other hand causes her to cry out in pain.

So im taking her back in about an hour...has this happened to any of your babies? If so, how long did it take to get better? Im so worried and all the symptoms point to a sprain, even though it's not swollen or anything like that. Ugh, poor thing is so frustrated, she can't play with her toys or do anything with her hand!!
