Hmmm I have a 15-month-old toddler too. He has little tantrums occasionally but nothing like what you describe. 15-month-olds are old enough to learn discipline. My son knows that when I say 'NO' he must stop what he's doing and when he does I gave 'YAY' and clap him for being good. It works 90% of them time, but the screaming, scratching and biting sounds extreme to me. How long has she been like this? Do you let her have her way every time she has a tantrum? Cause if you do, you're rewarding her for bad behaviour and she'll only get worse.

yeah my son is pretty wild himself. with the biting thing. honestly...and alot of people don't agree with it. but when she bites, bite her back. i know it sounds terrible. but it works. my son would constantly bite his 2 1/2 year old sister, and actually break the skin. she had quite a good looking scab on her back for a while. poor lil girl. anyways, i'd always just flick his mouth with my finger, and i thought it worked until he started biting again. so, the second i saw him bite his sister again, i grabbed him and bit him back. and he SCREAMED...lol...but he hasn't even tried to bite her again after that. i think that if they get to feel how bad it feels to be bitten they start thinking twice about doing it to others. i agree that she's old enough to start disciplining. go for it.

as for eating. i was going through HUGE power stuggles with both of my kids when it came to eating. and i just gave up!!! lol...if they don't wanna eat, then they don't eat. don't pressure them or get mad at them for not eating. it only makes it worse. if they don't want to eat what you give them, then they can go hungry and wait for the next scheduled meal time. it's seriously not worth battling over!! lol...very much a lost cause. she'll eat if she's hungry enough so don't worry about it.

good luck!! :-)

I have been SO lucky with my son when it comes to eating. He eats everything that's put in front of him no problems. Maybe one day he'll suddenly start giving me problems. Until then, I'll just enjoy it. :)

My son went through a phase like that too when he was that age. It does pass.
The biting didn't last very long but at the time it seemed like it wasn't going to end.
We would give a very stern "NO" and then we'd give him a time out.
He got over it.
As for the hitting, that phase lasted a little bit longer. We figured that punishing hitting with more hitting wasn't the way to do it so we stuck with "NO" and time outs.
He doesn't hit anymore. He doesn't like it when we tell him he's not nice so that helped too.

As for eating...oh man, there was a time when the only things Silas would eat were grilled cheese or yogurt. It was frustrating because I wanted him to be getting all of the nutrients and things he needs but he wouldn't eat.
We didn't want to force him to eat it because we didn't want to make him resent food that's good for him.
He's two now and still goes through little phases of what he will and will not eat.
I'm done making different things to try and get him to eat. He either eats what he gets or he goes hungry.

ha ha lola may. i know. when we went to the kootenays for xmas i was a little worried how the kids were going to eat. it was mostly borsch (which is an ALL veggie soup...lol...they hate every kind of veg)....and cottage cheese perogies....and these other things that were stuffed with either beans, peas or cottage cheese....all stuff i LOVE, but my kids were NOT going for it!! ha ha...but after day 2 of being there they gave in and ate....i couldn't believe my eyes when my son ate an entire bowl of borsch...lol...

so we got home and i made 32 liters of borsch!!! and they are eating it!! YAAAHOOOOOO!!!! lol...
