O.k.,how do you cook your turkey? Breast side up or down? I have always cooked mine up and so has every person I've ever seen cooking one. But last night when I was on the phone to my sister-in-law,she was telling me that her mom always cooked it breast side down so all the juices would remain in the maety part of the turkey! I'd never heard of it being done that way before, have you? And which way will you do yours?

the first turkey I ever cooked I accidently cooked up side down. I am not a very experienced cook LOL Anyway it ended up being very juicy. I only like white meat and turkey can be a bit on the dry side, but this turkey was great. Needless to say this is now how I cook it on purpose and I have converted some of the people in my family as well.

I do it breast down, for the exact reason your siser-in-law said. The last 1/2 hour I'll flip it breast up so it will get brown & pretty, for serving.

I cook mine breast up covered with foil. I uncover it the last hour to brown.
