My hubby drives a semi-truck. It's good pay, good benefits and it's local so he's home everynite and weekends. The only that really stinks it's 4pm-4am but not really cause I don't have to worry about him hogging all the covers and bed while we sleep. lol!!! ↑ |
tacos, nachos, mexican pizzas, that kinda stuff. its fast food. ↑ |
HI. My husband builds power lines. He is an electrical line foreman with the IBEW local union 769. ↑ |
That's funny mspeachpit! My husband has had nicknames for his places of employment too! Like he calls cracker barrel,Crapper Barrel! ↑ |

Mine works maintenance in a feed mill ↑ |
Lizzi, believe it or not, i learned the nickname Tacky Hell from an 8 year old little girl! ↑ |
Some places my husband nicknames I don't think would be too appropriate for me to repeat on here, too awful! ↑ |
My husband works full-time at a power plant, inside of a chemical plant. The he works for the Fire Department part-time and response from home. Both jobs are 12 hour shifts both days and nights. ↑ |
All different jobs then and none of them sound boring either. ↑ |
Wow momof3,what a busy man you have! ↑ |
Yeah, momof3, do ya ever get to see your hubby?? Or is that a good thing??? ↑ |
Momof3, My husband builds power lines and has worked at the power plant here in AZ, He is also a hot shot fire fighter! Funny! ↑ |

I hope that the kids dont give you too much trouble momof3.

Bye. ↑ |
My husband works for a manufacturing company. He is in charge of all the manufacturing facilities globally. This week he was in England, last week he was in Utah and December he is going to China. ↑ |
Tweety, We see him now, but come January, he has to go to classes for the fire department 2-3 nights a week, plus his full-time job, plus his shifts at the firehouse, plus his nights were he has to respond to calls from the house. We will never see him. There will be days that he will be gone from 4am -10:30pm. I miss him when he is gone, but for the girls it will be hard and for his son. But it is something he wants to do so I will support him in it. He would do the same. ↑ |
Uh oh, mspeachpit---sounds like you're planning some fun when he gets home??? Make sure you light the candles. lol!! ↑ |
codyjody, That is so weird!!! Is the fire department, paid on call or volunteer or part-time shifts? Our department was paid on call, but now they man the stations in 12 hour shifts. So now there are 4 guys at the station at all times, and the rest of the guys respond from home on their battilion nights, ↑ |
luckey, does your husband enjoy traveling like that and do you ever go with him? ↑ |
no, unfortunately, stuff like that doesnt happen anymore. ↑ |
mspeachpit---I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend or suggest something that....well you know what I mean, I'm sorry. ↑ |
luck_in_life--wow, your hubby has a busy schedule. That's alot of traveling. I bet he gets tired??? ↑ |
He is actually a hot shot fire fighter, (Forest fires) He goes when fires get bad here in AZ. It is so dangerous, I don't like it when he is gone! Both jobs are very dangerous, But he is the guy they drop out of the plane right in the middle of the fire. He has been gone for 22 days straight, fighting fire. SUCKS! But than again, he has been gone for a year building power lines... ↑ |
oh, its ok, at least this way i never have to worry about whether or not i may be pregnant (since im prone to skipping cycles)! so there is an advantage! ↑ |
