We have a terrific thing at our Church called Trunk n Treat.. Everyone pulls into the parking lot, decorates the back end of their truck, car, SUV, and hands out candy... There is a barbeque and sodas,,,, it is soooo safe and loads of fun!!!! Remember when we would go out all evening for miles till our bags were so full we could barely carry them?!?!? Can't do that anymore.....

lmao!!! yes. i did that...went out all evening till my bag was about 100 pounds!! ha ha...but my dad would go with me everywhere. actually it would be ME, telling my dad that i was tired and wanted to go home...lol....

in our town, you can go to the mall and all the stores stay open late and you can go from store to store to get candy....they do the same thing with all the stores down the main street in town, then after, you can go to the firehall and have hotdogs and hot chocolate....but our kids are so young still, we'll just stay in our neighborhood. there's only about 20 houses here in the middle of a field, then there's a big soccer field across the street from us, and they have fireworks there afterwards...so that's enough excitement for our lil ones for one evening..lol...

This is the one holiday that I love getting involved in! WE go three to 5 places depending on when they are happening and my absolute favorite in in Yellow Springs ahich is little college town where Antioch College started ( a very liberal college) . We walk around there and get lots of candy and all or the EMS vehicles of all types are driving around and handing out king size candy and then they haev little fires set up around town where people volunteer their yards and time to hand out hot dogs and marshmallows and cider. It is just great seeing the community work together like that. Oh and the police are out walking and driving around and handing out candy and there is a lady who sits out on her porch and takes polaroid pics of the kids every year and just hands them to you to keep. I just adore it there!

There's a lot of people around my parts that have that southern way of talking. Most are African Americans who's family came from the south. I have found many of my family members use some of the same wordings. My sister says Yall all the time, she once asked a group of black girls... how yall going? They got pissed they thought she was making fun of the way they spoke as black people. I mean they were all in a tissy, I finally had to set them straight and inform them that the term Yall is not a slang black thing that it is a southern thing.

we too do trunk or treat at the local churches..they have carnival games..and give out drinks and hotdogs...love it..and they have bands play..

our city also has fright night on our main street..all the business stay open..set up outside their shops and set up games or give out candy..make haunted houses..they have bouncy houses..rides..it is about a mile long..6000+ kids last year..we went for a bit but it was almost too much..so i might just stick with the church only...
