I was just wondering how everyone felt about drinking alcohol during pregnancy.....To me, I think any amount of alcohol is not good for baby. However, some people tell me that there's no harm in having a very small glass of wine...like a couple ounces...or just a little glass of champagne, once in a blue moon while pregnant. As some of you know, we're going to my grandparents 50th anniversary dinner tonight, and my dad is telling me, oh have a glass of champagne with us to toast!!! I said, well maybe i'll get some sparkling apple juice or something....and he kept saying, it won't hurt nothing...i know that older generation did many things that parents today don't do. and sometimes they don't understand....they always say, your mother drank or smoked while they were pregnant and you turned out fine. Yeah....things like that weren't much of a concern back then, but they are now....
I'm not drinking tonight, and that's that!! I won't be pressured into anything i'm not comfortable with...i'm not stupid!!! but I was just wondering what others thought on this issue.... ↓

I did not drink anything for the first 3 months with both my kid's,and then if i did touch a drop it was only if we were at a wedding or something like that.
Just a sip for the toast and back on the oj ↑ |

| When I was pregnant with my oldest I drank 1 glass of peach shwnapps before i new i was pregnant, and I worried about it forever. my next 2 I didn't drink a drop. We have a friend who drank the whole time and smoked. I just wanted to slap her evertime I saw her. But her kids were fine too. ↑ |

I drank when i was pregnant....i was a bit of a loonie though.. but not before the 12 week mark
i drank from about 7 months excessivley...binge drinking
would never binge when pregnant or advise it though ↑ |

| well with Anika I smoked and drank, but as soon as i found out i was pregnant i stopped immediately....with this pregnancy i didn't know I was pregnant until i was already 14 weeks along...there was a couple times in that period were I had had quite a few glasses of wine and sitting in our hot tub....when I found out i was pregnant i felt like the worst mother in the world!! LOL...James always tells me to relax, but i feel terrible...anyways...i would never have anything to drink now. it's just so many people find that it is ok to some extent, that I sometimes wonder if i'm over reacting ↑ |

i didn't drink with either one of mine but i just couldn't seem to kick the habit of smoking
i slowed down quite a bit...went from 1 pack a day to just 5 or so a day...but i never could completely quit. i tried sooo hard too! ↑ |

| I had a couple of drinks before i found out i was pregnant, but that was really early, i found out i was pregnant at 5 weeks, so i didn't have anything else until i was almost due because my mother-in-law had some old wives tale thingy about me having a sip of red wine to avoid going overdue. Well, wasn't she wrong haha!! I was 5 days overdue! ↑ |

| My stepson's mom drank in a BAR for her whole pregnancy!!!! I never understood that. I wouldn't step foot in a bar pregnant. Now she is pregnant again, and I don't think she is drinking but still goes to the bar on the weekends. ↑ |

i would have the occassional drink when im pregnant next time, but i would try my hardest not be in smoky environments, i do anyway as i hate the smell, but try even harder...but alcohol hasnt done my twins any harm. They are healthy and happy...they are not hyperactive or suffering from any attention disorders, they are doing well, weigh the right weight and all that. they are just average 18 month old irls....
they had pretty high birth weights for twins too! ↑ |

i dont drink during pregnancy solely because it made me sick :-(
but i dont have a problem with those wanting a glass on a great occassion...i cant see it causing any probs...but you stick to your guns :-)))... ↑ |
