hubby wants me to think of a gemstone for him to buy for me while he's at the show, so he can bring it back and make a piece of jewellery for me.
I know I want a pendant. I don't know what color or shape I want for the stone though. and I don't want anything TOO expensive, cause I'd like to wear it all the time. so the ones out of the question are: ruby, emerald and diamond, oh and tanzanite. for a nice color ruby or emerald they are really pricey, and emeralds are very fragile. and diamonds i'm just not into. my wedding ring has diamonds, and i have diamond studs....and i don't need more than that. what should I get?
pink sapphire? blue sapphire? peridot? tsavorite? pink tourmaline? green tourmaline? what? what? what? lol....
maybe if some of you tell me what YOU like, something might come to mind!! :-) ↓

amethyst. They are really pretty, a medium purple color. You could check into that. It is also my birthstone. ↑
I love Peridot (my birthstone) and Pink Topaz.
I love the look of pink topaz with white gold. ↑ |
hmmmm...i think we probably have some bloodstone kickin' around in our back yard!! lol....
i like pink with white gold too....pink topaz or maybe pink sapphire....
I really like chrome tourmaline too though!! ugh...i have to decide by tonight too!!! crap...so many pretty choices!!! ↑ |
Hey! bmes! long time not chat!! hope your sister is doing ok hon....I keep thinkin of her. Yes its off topic..(sorry all) but just checkin huh.
Ok...I love the pink and white gold. BUT unless you have several pieces to choose from and with your hubby around you just might lol....it ummmm sort of limits you in terms of what it 'goes with' clothing wise. I dunno maybe just me huh...but thats my thought.
Now i dont know my gemstones....ooooooh hang on ...google lolololol brb...
ok...the two i like the best...ta just go with about any color one wants to wear...is the Topaz and the Citrine. In the pictures i saw..the colors are sort of similiar. One more brownish than the other...but both in the goldish color range lololol.....tell hubby all about my color expresions give him a good giggle. Anyway...one of those would be my choice. Just a thought.
You lucky thing!!!!! ↑ |
Emerald set in white gold!! ↑
We do not have any bloodstone around here but I still love it! ↑
well hubby is going to look for a pink sapphire for me!! yay!!! i think heart shaped would be nice....or a square.... ↑
I LOVE EMERALDS!! They are just so beautiful. ↑
yeah i like emeralds to....but they are a real bitch to care for properly. they are very fragile, and do not take to heat very well. so if you need an emerald ring retipped or something it's a real pain to fix. alot of times they'll crack or burn or chip, unless to take the stone right out, fix the claws then reset the stone, which costs way more. my dad made me an emerald ring and had to replace the stone 3 times. first time it cracked while setting it, then he burned it, then he chipped it. lol.....they are really nice though. but for something that you want to wear EVERY DAY it's not the best stone to have, unless it's really well protected or set in platinum ↑
I like diamonds the best but after that comes yellow citrine. It looks real classy and stands out set in yellow gold. I also like marquis, princess, triangle, and baguette cuts. I'm not big on rounds or ovals. I think a pear shape would be nice for a pendant. ENJOY! ↑
what do you guys think of black diamonds? ↑
I love topaz, oval thin sliced set in white gold...shows off the colour beautifully. ↑
Black diamonds are absolutely gorgeous. Black is also very slimming so a pendant might make your boobs look smaller LOL! ↑
saphinres, onyx, and I forget the name something with the word tiger in it, they are so pretty. ↑
I just love Opals. They are sooo pretty. ↑
opals are nice....only the austalian ones though.... ↑
Well I wasn't aware that Opals came from anywhere besides Australia! ↑
we have opals where I live too...in the Okanagan....and there's some up north in Burns Lake, which my hubby has part ownership of the claim... they are not as nice....more orange and brownish colors. there are some that were found that were the same color as australian opals, but the majority of it isn't. it's more of a tourist grab thing.....people come here for vacation, and want something from here. ↑
my hubby found alot of crystal opal on his claim....it's more clear, and when you put a black background on it, or shine a light on it, it lights up real nice. ↑
I have a lovely, very old Opal ring that is very very white with lots of orange and green veins... The colors in the veins change in the sunlight and it looks like some one "turned it on".. ↑
there's mexican opal too ↑
yep....they are really nice. i love the firey colors in it....but also very fragile. i would love to own a piece of opal jewellery, but i know it would break within aweek, the way i wear stuff!! lol.... ↑
