Home stretch Less than 4 weeks to go!
I've been feeling pretty well for the last several weeks - even my back pain has subsided considerably. Last week I started feeling some cramping low in my belly. It wasn't like contractions, just a constant tight feeling that made it difficult to walk. The nurse said I probably just need to drink more water. So I've been trying that and it seems to work.
I was sleeping great for most of the pregnancy but that seems to be over. It's so hard to get comfortable and every position seems to put pressure on my back. I slept upright last night with the help of a couch cushion. It wasn't great but it was better than before.
The nausea from the first trimester seems to have made a return visit. No vomiting but my stomach upsets easily and no food really sounds very appetizing. I hope it doesn't last long.
I've had both of my baby showers and I can't believe how much we received! We received most of what we needed from the store registries and also some beautiful handmade items. Luke is going to be one lucky boy. I think the only significant items we'll need to find now are a dresser and changing table (though I think we can manage without the changing table for awhile). I would also like to find a nice chair for sitting. At this point we only have the couch and it would be nice to have a chair to put in the baby's room for feeding and whatnot.
Mike is working feverishly on repairing and refinishing Luke's room. He hopes to have it finished in time for Luke's arrival but we know it's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen. He'll be sleeping in our room for awhile at first anyway. We are both getting more and more excited to meet this little guy! |
