The day we found out...October 23
I had been working at the racetrack in Lethbridge, Alberta since September and the track surface and staff were HORRIBLE and consequently there were a lot of injuries to horses there. So when I felt really tired all the time in October and felt like crap every morning when I woke up, I assumed it was because I was just really ready to go home! Ed and Mary Kyler had been taking me to breakfast every morning since KC left around the 3rd of October, and today I just didn't want to eat anything! So Mary asked if my breasts were tender...which took me really by surprise as I hadn't even thought of that! She said she thought I should take a pregnancy test, so to humor her, I went and got a cheap +/- test and did it in the bathroom right by the race office. It looked immediately like a + so I called KC and told him to sit down...then I told him what was going on and went to buy a more expensive digital test that actually said the words PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT. When I took that one, it said PREGNANT right away so I started to believe. I called Mary and she was so excited! It was funny cuz the first thing Ed said was,"I bet she won't be able to come to Grande Prairie next year!"
I had bought tickets to the Brooks and Dunn concert in Lethbridge...it was their final tour before they parted ways and I heard Mary talking about how much |
