Zoey Eileen Allen is here!!! Zoey is finally here! She was born on 11/6/09 @5:04pm. She weighed a whopping 9lbs 6oz and was 21inches long! I can't believe she was so big! She arrived with drama that is for sure. Here is her birth story.
It was early friday morning, about 1am...Scott and I had gone for a long walk the night before, and we had just fallen asleep. I got up and had to pee and thought my water broke...so I went back to bed waiting to see what my body does next...I started having mild cramps, about 6mins apart. I woke Scott up and told him what was going on, we called the birth center and was told to come in so they could check if it was indeed my water that broke. So Scott showered, called my mom to let her know what was going on. We arrived around 130am...hung out and did some walking. My contractions were getting stronger, about 3-4 mins apart...at 330am we were admitted and I was given a drug called fentanol...LOVE IT, my advice do not turn it down! They gave it to me to take the edge off the contractions. Anyway, they talked with Dr. Roberts and she was going to stop by around 7am and break my water. Well we got some sleep and at 530 my water broke on its own, quite a weird feeling. Thing started to progress after that. Pete the anesthesiologist came at 6 and gave me the epidural which didnt hurt at all. After that we just waited for my body to dialate. We were stuck at 3cm for quite sometime, then did the same at 7cm. It was about 1pm that I was fully dialated. We called my mom and she came...and the pushing began. I had my mom and Scott holding my legs and my sister was counting. During the pushing they noticed Zoey's heartrate drop when I had a contraction so they hooked her up to an internal monitor. We had to take a few breaks, I was so tired and they had to give me some more drugs cause my bck was killing me. Dr. Roberts found out that Zoey was "sunnyside up" and I was really getting anywhere pushing. I remember saying at 230 that I would be glad to go with a c-section cause I was in so much pain. At 3 I got a burst of energy and decided to go for it and push again...did that until 345 and I spiked a fever, an Roberts said she could feel that I was super warm inside. She came back in at 4 and said we can't wait any longer and had to do an emergency c-section. At this point I was in so much back pain and Zoey was lodged in my pelvis. They couldnt give me anymore drugs since they stopped my epidural and were going to give me a spinal. I just remember telling Scott I wanted her out and that it hurt so bad. 430 came and they finally could do th spinal. It workd to cure the back pain but when they were doing the pinch test on my stomach I could feel it. Scott had just came in and sat down and was sent oit b/c they hd to put me under. I woke up 2 hrs later to see Scott holding Zoey. I had no cue where I was. Finally at 730 pm we were wheeled out and greeted by my parents, sister an Scott's dad. Zoey was so cute!! Everyone got to hold her and I did as well! It was 930 ish and it was my mom, scott and I in th room and I was holding and th on call ped came in and said Zoey had to be taken to a hospital with a NICU since I got and infection and had a fever. I got to hold her for mybe 20mins. They took her to get some tests don. We were all in tears..sucked! It was 11pm when the ambulance crew came in so I could say goodbye. She was on a stretcher in and incubator. Scott hd left to take a cat nap cause he was going to drive to Fairview Ridges to be with her. Luckily my cousin Jess offered to bring him. They got there around 1am. I was stuck in the hospital bawling. My cuz Tarah came and spent the night with me.

Well my friend Carolyn had her baby girl on the 4th...Lilian Marie. 7lbs 2oz, and 21.5 inches long. LUCKY! Her water broke on the 3rd, and she had her at 526am on the 4th. She is a cutie! I haven't physically gotten to see her yet, but once Zoey gets here we will be spending a lot of time together!
My doc called and changed my mon appt to tuesday now...so no induction until middle of next week! WTH!! I am so ready to be done. I think I will go on a long walk tonite since it is pretty nice out...wash some floors...just do something. I think it helped when I went shopping this last weekend. So we will see. I am so hoping she comes either tonite or tomorrow night.
Well that is really all I have to report...just trucking along.
