Halloween and 2nd U/S So this weekend was Halloween. Vera was a kitty cat, a costume she picked out and loved. I worked all day (suck) but Josh dressed up at the Cat in the Hat and called some friends of ours who are the parents of Vera's best buddy and they went trick-or-treating. I met up with them after I got off of work at 7:30 and hung out for another 45-60 min. Vera did a really good job, going up to doors and yelling Trick or Treat! and walking away with a quiet thank you and her candy. She is still talking about it and loves to remember the scary stuff, tho I try to play it down so she isn't too freaked out. But they had a really great time and got a bunch of candy. Vera is in a really fun phase, very loving and loves to play big sister with her baby doll. It was so funny, yesterday Vera was taking a bath and I stepped out to get dressed after I took a shower with her in the tub and I hear her calling for me. I see her standing up in the tub kind of freaking out. Turns out she pooped in the tub! It freaked her out, she was not happy about it. Her first time, oh well, better than in her bed or undies I guess!
Yesterday I had my second level 2 ultrasound. So I am all clear, no more placenta previa and Cowan and the amniotic fluid are progressing well, so yay! I had the tech verify the sex, didn't want a Heather mistake, so 2 : 2 say it is a boy!I have an OB appointment this Friday to follow up but things are going well. Can't believe I am 24 weeks pregnant, 6 months already, geez. Another difference with this pregnancy is that my belly button is starting to pop, it is half way out. Josh got out my maternity box so I am pretty much strictly maternity clothes now, good times!

23 weeks pregnant So I am now 23 weeks pregnant. Funny cuz I was just reading my blog when I was pregnant with Vera. I didn't feel her until I was over 20 weeks pregnant and with this one I felt him at 17 weeks, and he is a crazy kicker/mover too! The other night I had Josh feeling while we were watching TV, it was those violent crazy kicks too, jeez. Also I read how I was still fitting into my fatty jeans at this time, but I went to maternity jeans pretty quick with this one cuz I have gained more weight with this one...great...With V I had only gained about 8 lbs at this time, and with this one I am up to 16, yay, double the fun! Just hope it goes away when he is here! But as far as pictures, I look about the same belly-wise. I have another ultrasound next week to check on my boarderline placenta previa as well as an OB appt a few days later. Oh, one good thing, my appetite has gone down, lower than even when I'm not pregnant. Maybe my stores are being utilized, finally! I just don't get too hungry like normal and when we go out I never know what to get, no cravings/wants, odd.
This Sunday we did a Trunk or Treat with Vera, it was pretty cool, crazy turnout of people. Vera is so excited to go trick or treating. She was a bit apprehensive on doing the trunk or treat thing, but she did well. Some costumes freaked her out. She is doing pretty good with the potty training. I am trying to really stick with it, no diapers at all, well just when she sleeps. We aren't really rewarding her, only when she asks for it and she is being pretty consistent, most days. It is just tough when you go out since the big toilets freak her out. I will be in there with her holding her and she will say she is scared and not go, oh well.
We will likely carve our pumpkins tomorrow night, yay, always fun. And loves me some pumpkin seeds, mmm! Hope everyone is great and not sick!

Sex...? So we had our 2D ultrasound the 8th. We dropped Vera off at a pals house and on the way there I asked Josh if he wanted to find out the sex. Of course he said yes and stated his argument. Fine, sucker...So we get there and I tell the tech, go ahead and tell us the sex only if it is 100%. She says she has been doing this 20 years and had never been wrong, so... it's a BOY! We are both really excited. It will be little Cowan (pronounced Co-wan, not Cow-an, it is Irish) we hope in conjunction w/ our last name people will figure out the pronunciation and I have been doing trials at work and the correct pronunciation is about 70%, not bad, just hope he isn't fat! :)
I have been feeling good, not eating as much, phew! This last Saturday at work I was having some pelvic pressure for half the day then all the sudden I look down and my belly is more pronounced. Later that night getting into my PJ's, Josh and I are like, dang! My belly just got huge in one day, weird! So I officially look pregnant, not just fat, well in most clothes! Work is getting crazy with the swine flu drama. I got my influenza and swine flu being that I am high risk, pregnant and high exposure at work. People, please do your homework b4 you come to the ER and expose everyone else, geez. The other day I wore a mask half of my shift due to all of the sickies, my hair and make-up were completely destroyed by the end of the day, lookin hot!

Vera has been great. She is getting really good with her vocabulary, everyday she throws out a new word and she is repeating a lot too. And today she has been 100% with the potty, even with a poo, YAY, fingers crossed!
This last weekend we went up to Shanandoah Park to see the foliage. It was actually not at colorful as we hoped, but there was snow! We had a truck picnic then hiked is a bit of snow. It was a lot of fun except for the driving. Initially we went the wrong way, thenon the way back a road was closed due to snow, so had to backtrack a ways. So total was like 6 hours in the car that day, sucked! Oh, and poor lil Vera was starving and got car sick and threw up for the first time as we were walking into the restaurant for dinner! Her first varf as a toddler, poor girl. She was fine after throwing up and eating, phew! Her memory is crazy good too, she will still recall it and random stuff, funny. She is also really looking forward to Halloween. She has her lines down and asks me almost every day if we can go trick or treating. The house is decorated and she loves it! Can't wait to see how she does with Christmas!
