My son is 8 and is doing wonderful on the patch. I am however having a problem getting the prescription filled at a local drug store. He is wearing 1 and 1/2 patches daily -45mg. Every time month the pharmaicts tells me that the patches are not to be cut. His dr. states that it is fine to cut the patch in half. We have been doing so since we started in October, he has had no problems doing this. I was just wondering if one eles is cutting patches?

My daughter is on the patch, and we are also much happier with it more than anything else. I have not needed to cut it, but I will check with her doc to see if he agrees with yours. I can't imagine why not, since you are not opening it, plus the half is used the next morning. My understanding is that the adesive needs to be covered until used. It may be just the drug company wanting to make more money or the drug store, more more more! I would check with some other pharmsicits to get their unbiased opinions.

I have been cutting the 10mg patches in half for the last two months and it is just enough. The patch is working so well for us, but my 9-year old daughter is just itching quite a bit with it on lately and scratching the patch off. Any itching on your child?
