Hi! my seven year old son was just diagnosed with ADHD. He is being started on Ritalin this weekend. Please tell me about experiences with this drug etc. Also has anyone tried diet changes, taking out food dyes and preservatives??? Let me know if you have tried it and how it has worked. Thank you.

They put Christopher on Adderall. So far I love it!! He is able to focus and is like a totally new child. He has had the tummy virus going around though, so it's hard to completely evaluate yet. Anyone have experience with this med?? Also he has ODD as well. Would love all the info I can find about both of these together.

before putting my son on meds we did the no sugar thing and watch the red dies but recently was told by a specialist that it truly doesnt make a huge difference to avoid those things, adhd is a neorological disorder and when there is an imbalance they actout like they do. my son is soon to be seven he is on 36mg concerta and .25 resperidal. he has tried aderall but it made him more violent every child is different.my son has adhd and od but now his worker says i could say hes a regulaer boy because he has made huge gains this year. he has attending social skilss groups and a special summer camp that works on behaviours, he now has friends, he is a pleasant to be around now, although he will always have adhd, just being on the right meds and having the right supports he truly fits in with the others now, i no longer get phone calls, and nocks on my door of people complaining its great. im so proud of him. wish the best for you too

hello i have adhd and in my opinion when it comes to food its the amount of E numbers in the food that u have to watch for example dr pepper used to make me go hyper active and so did cherry coke and these both contain loads of e numbers and when i was younger my parents put me on ritalin and according to them it was very benafitial
