Hi,

I was just wondering whether anybody would like to help me?

I am currently at University and am doing some research about ADHD. I chose this condition myself because I personally think it is wrong to punish 'naughty kids' when in many cases they can't help behaving in the way they do, as it is natural to them.

My research is about pupils with ADHD in secondary mainstream schools so if any of you have a child in a secondary mainstream school and wouldn't mind me asking you some questions, all confidential, it would be a great help.

I just think it's better to get an opinion of somebody who has experienced ADHD rather than relying on statistics etc.

Hope to hear from you soon, thanks,
Emma

my son has adhd/odd and i go throught the fustration every single day. My other fustration is that although he does have adhd/odd, it does not make it okay for him to choke his brothers, bite his brothers, yell at me on a constant basis, steal, lie and everything else we deal with every day. he needs to know like any other kid that there are consequences to his actions and that i love him but i will not tolerate his misbehavior. I have a son with a syndrome also but i believe if you dont treat them the same they will not make it in society. my son with the syndrome is behind in school but we treat him the same as our other 3 boys and i dont believe for a minute that he would be where he is today if we had treated him "special."

Emma,
I would be happy to share my experiences with my son. I am not sure what "secondary mainstream" is. He is 8 and in the second grade.
