today i saw my son since I took him to inpatient, he looked wonderful and was smiling, when i took him 2 days ago I was afraid to leave him there the abilify that he started that day made him verry verry sick, so i thought i needed to be there, anyways I guess he's "honeymooning" so they say, but it was still great to see his smile, I haven't seen that in a verry long time. the docs have decided that he is also bipolar, that is why he went. I just him to feel better and I think, hope and pray that putting him the hospital was the right choice.

Tracy,
How old is your son? My son is 6 and has o.d.d. but with a.d.h.d. tendancies. Some of the workers that are dealing with him are thinking he might have to be hospitalized. I am fighting it as much as I can but feel like I am losing that battle. He is very aggressive and beats on me and his 8 year old sister. He hates the word no and gets very mad when he is told that. He doesn't like not getting his own way and makes life miserable when things don't go his way. He has been on medication for over 2 years but it is very hard to get it into him. He won't take it on his own (it is in capsule form)so I have to break it up and put it in food. if he doesn't eat whatever I put it in then he doesn't get his meds and that makes the day horrible.
I am really trying to see if we can get him the help he needs at home with wraparound services but feel like hospitilaziion might be our only option. That makes me very sad but I know I have to do what is right for him.
