I have a 7 year old son in second grade that has ADHD. We are finally at a point that he is handling his classroom activities and homework well. Our biggest challenge now is socially.... especially in the less supervised environments like camp and recess. He has a tendency to over react and get very emotional on the playground. Once that happens, if he is able to recover, he removes himself from the group and just walks around talking/playing with himself. His teachers are worried that he is distancing and isolating himself from his classmates. Has anyone else had similar issues or have suggestions on ways we can help him be more successful with his peer relations so he can enjoy recess during the day?

Hey suedwa, what you can try is call his friends over to your house!! So that he plays with them, share his toys, or can take him and his friends for a movie or a lunch, so that you can get to know where the problem lies!! To make him social , first let him interact with the family members more, make sure he talks to his father, grandparents everyday, you can take him to park as well!! Even you can try puzzles and games as well!! i recently got my daughter amaira Mitashi Playsmart Mastermind form hushbabies, she loves to play it with her friends, some really good educational activities!! and fun games, so you can try that out, hope it helps!!
