| Hi I am 13 years old too and I have adhd and had anorexia so I know all about that stuff. If you do not have her on medicen for adhd you need to get some!! And i got anorexic from being on to high of a does lower her does of medicen and see how it goes. Hello im a student at Portland community college. Im 21 and in school for psychology. Just a little back round on me. Being that i have add, adhd, and all the other fun stuff, i have some suggestions.
Now im sure you have tried this but try and get down deep into what shes feeling. You may have to work at it for days, but my guess is shes locked up with in herself. When i was younger i used to have the ability to shut down. Thats sounds simple but not quite. Im talking more of shutting off all feeling and emotion. Once that happens i could put myself into a t4rance like state and forget about everybody and everything around me and dwell on my true problem, what it may have been.
You will need to sit down with her and talk freely and openly, don't censor your words during this conversation and absolutely don't get angry at what ever she may have to say. Come clean with her about anything and everything. Build the trust. If their was solid trust i doubt all this would be happening to you, its most likely a combination of you not being there and not understanding who she is. She probably is facing that fact that shes different than others and thinks differently as well, then throw the fact that you don't have time for her and you have a whole pile of self dislike. I understand your a single parent and in no way am i putting blame on you for anything your doing a great job if this is the only set of problems with a single parent who cant be home all the time. But again i must express that spending real time talking about hard stuff. Ask about the adhd, ask about how she feels about herself, ask deeper questions than this. I've noticed men have a hard time in going for the deeper questions which is okay, my mom brought me up in a feminine manner and i have an idea on what ways to ask boys,girls,women,men questions. Theirs always a special way to go about it. I have quite a story where i had to find myself and it wasnt in the best way but now i feel free of my burdens and instead think of them as a gift and use them to their potential. friends,family can anyone help you and your daughter out ???? just a little??? you both need support of some sort this is very important as if you dont know that. your daughter needs to talk to someone anyone who she may feel she can relate to,look if it's not you it dosen't matter to start with as long as she can discuss any issues she has if she will to someone. have you tried school councillors? I dont know where you are located I am in Australia but they may be able to assist you in some way. it would be hard if you dont have the time but being the only parent for your daughter you have to keep on trying no matter what, gee what a challenge you have girls are so hard to understand at the best of times LOL but if you can think of anyone that may have other teens or daughters that she can talk to thats a start. Look getting a teenager to talk to you is a task on it's own and to have this on top. is she taking any meds for the ADHD? this stops them eating alot of the time.Your daughter needs to feel secure and safe she is dealing with alot for her age,I feel for you both and just wish you the best and hope all works out in the end. ↑ |
