We are just starting the process of adopting our nearly 4 year old grandson. His parents have both terminated their parental rights and now we can go ahead. We have a 6 year old daughter who understands (at her level) what is going on. There are also parental grandparents who are trying to adopt but due to many issues the court will hoepfully favor us.

I am looking for advice from anyone who has been through a similar situation. We obviously have a lot of concerns - how do you change from being a grandparent to a parent? How do we make sure we treat both our daughter and grandson the same? I know we'll get through it all but it's terrifying in so many ways.

All advice will be very greatfully accepted.

Thanks
