I am a father of a soon to be 3 year old son diagnosed with autism 8 months ago I am looking for parents with knowledge about resources available for my son. We live in Troy,Illinois. Also curious about benefits of moving to Missouri. We hear that St. Louis has better programs for our son. Does anyone know what makes Missouri better.

Well it's not worse than here. Texas ranks 50th out of states for social programs and help for Autistic kids. My appointment with the Autism specialist in Dallas is coming up after an 8 month waiting list and I'll be driving over 100 miles to get there.

Now to answer your question. Me and my family where just days away to moving to Joplin and seeking services in Springfield. We aren't there because the rental house was destroyed. So yes, Missouri has excellent services. But that's coming from me and Texas being lowest. Anyway...Hopefully this thing will let me post link. Here's several locations that can help:
