I have a Godson that won't eat pretty much anything. He is 3 years old. When I say he won't eat, I really mean it. He lives off of blender smoothies, drinks consisting of milk, bananas, peanutbutter, etc... Anything for nutrition to help him live a healthy life. He has to drink these drinks from a covered cup with a straw and is very sensitive. He doesn't like seeing the contents and analizes every speck in the cup. Has anyone ever experienced this please let me know. We feel all alone.
Thank you
concerned Godmother.

I understand -- my son has very few foods he'll eat. I make sure he has multivitamin drops in his milk/juice and that he is developing normally. Our family doctor reassured me that most toddlers don't eat right anyway --and just the simple fact that we live in the US and are not poor assures that he will not starve. I understand your frustration though. I agree that you should ask your doc for advice. Good luck and feel free to write again...

I have an autistic child and have gone through similar eating problems with him, when he was younger. It is not uncommon for autisics to have sensory issues and of course taste and texture are part of this. He'll get better as he gets older, mine did. Believe me, at least your managing to give him nutritious smoothies.....I've met a mother who's autistic child wouldn't eat anything except boiled white rice, all day, everyday.

My son is nearly opposite. He won't eat anything other than crunchy foods. You are deffinitaly not alone. My little boy has lost 6 lbs and he only weighs 30. Would like to talk more. I see that the last reply was Jan. and it is now May, are you still on this site? Or, anyone else. We also feel quite alone in this.
