I was just looking through the net and found this and was wondering if anyone has heard of it or tried it for their autistic child? It is called Cranial Sacral Therapy and works by having the body's natural healing mechanisms dissipate the negative effects of stress on the nervous system. It is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction including Autism.Using a soft touch (no greater than 5 grams) practioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the nervous system.
I am very interested to hear peoples views on this subject.

I have two friends who have tried this. One of them said it helped immediately and others who didn't have knowledge of the procedure confired the improvements. The other friend said that her child had a worrisome experience on the second visit. He went limp, couldn't respond or talk, or anything for a while. The therapist was not alarmed and said that it can happen and not to worry. But my friend was worried. Her child did come out of it and then seemed to do better in some areas. But last time I talked to my friend, she had not chosen to return for more. Based on that I am reluctant to try it. The two friends were in different areas and went to different practitioners. I get hesitant to trust someone to do it right. I tend to avoid things that could do any kind of harm, but maybe we're missing out on something good.
