I HAVE A 20 YR.OLD SON WHO WILL BE GRADUATING IN JUNE 07. HE HAS GONE TO SCHOOL SINCE HE WAS 3, BUT IS TERRIFIED THINKING HE MUST HAVE DONE SOMETHING REALLY BAD FOR THEM TO TAKE SCHOOL AWAY(BREAKS MY HEART) WHAT PROGRAM SHOULD WE CHOOSE OR NOT CHOOSE?

School for children with disabilities goes until the age of 22, you need to make plans for what type of program he will go to.

What State are you in? Here in Los Angeles there is a place called Jay Nolan where they help families. I would try looking for a local ARC program. I have a sister who is 40 in NJ and has worked with ARC there for many years, I think the place is now called CEA.

hi my daughter is 18, she can go to school till 21 in NY. She is having a hard time dealing with being a teen......she said she doesnt like it and wants to be a "kid".......she seems to see that she is diff....to a point......she also has added to the autistic , depression and anxiety!! had her on all kinds of med,. has to take her off them no worked.....it was horrible....she cant even go to the summer program this summer, cant deal with leavnig the house......its taking a toll on the family.the autistic part well we got used to that part......she went to school at 2 and a half. and has come along away till this hit home...........anyway i feel for your son.......and you.........wish you luck sorry for writing so much needed to vent sincerely judy

Yes i feel the same as you do, it's hard.
it's as though we are under HOUSE ARREST
for the last 21 yrs.

We use to live in N.Y. (Monroe,Chester,Goshen)
