my little guy, age three, severe, did the most insane thing tonight. i didn't know whether to laugh, praise him, or freak out. i put a diaper on him. just a couple minutes later i walked into the kitchen, his diaper was off and he was squatting on my kitchen floor. yes folks, he peed AND left me a present. NOW, here's the question. Is this his way of telling me, ok ama (momma), i am ready? HELP!

oh my god!!! i have to laugh because my son does the exact same thing.... he is four and is toilet trained for the last six months... he wil pee in the toilet no problem and i can bring him out every day without a nappy and he always tells me when he has to go... but he will not sit on the toilet at all... he takes his trousers down in the bathroom and does it on the floor too.... i would love to know how to move him on from this as he will just not sit on the toilet for me at all... i definatly think your son may be ready you should try him..it is very stressful but you need to keep going with it and he will get it!!!!! good luck let us know how you get on!!

You are lucky, my daughter just turned 5 and has no interest at all. Even did a potty training program $500.00 with Western Michigan University. Didn't work.

I have no idea where to begin w/mine. He goes to his room at night (he's 4 & we don't do naps any more) and when we check on him there it is on the floor in one corner of the room. That's not even the worst of it! because once you look around sure enough he has finger painted it all over the wall. Which is funny since he hates to touch icky goopy things (sensory you know). My 2yr old w/PDD has done it now twice and I'm about fed up. I've read acouple books on how to potty train autistic kids but I can't seem to get anyone of us to catch on. I'm with you if you find the key for your family please share, you never know.
GOOD LUCK!!!
