yes its normal autisum is a spectrum disorder which youve probably heard a thousnd times but since its a spectrum disorder things can go from being bad to good or the other way around some times children with autisum regress like my son used to smear poop he is 4 he is not potty trained and if he is board or if he has had a stressful day hell start smearing do you have in home support? or a special needs worker?

Hi my son is 21 years old. He was not toilet trained until he was 5 years old. But right now my son is wetting the bed at night. He just started doing this in the last month on and off.

Hi Momsboy,

I have 3 autistic kids, and my 9 and 7 yr old are not fully potty trained yet. They know how to use the bathroom they just refuse to poop in there , my 9yr old will use his underwear and my 7yr old will use the floor, so I know exactly what you are going thru. I am getting help thru my regional center, they have provided me with a behaviour therapist who is helping me with the bathroom issues and it is helping. Have you gone thru the regional center yet for help? if you haven't here is their site: http://www.dmh.missouri.gov/slrc/index.htm

Try them, they really help and at no cost to you, which is the best part. Do not give up, everything will work out, trust me, I have been a single mom since 8 yrs ago, with all 3 kids. I don't know but it seems that men can't handle their kids being autistic, therefore our kids can only rely on their mommy's.

Good luck and let me know if the regional center worked out. My email is [email protected]

Happy Thanksgiving

Jack's Story.....

After the 12 mos. vaccines my son gradually slipped into autism. He was head-banging, hand-flapping, twirling, lost speech, lost eye contact and he just withdrew.

Now two years later.... no head-banging, no twirling, no flapping, has eye contact and is starting to verbalize again. And... he has Down Syndrome to boot. :) Yes... even kids with DS get autism. Actually they get it at a higher rate.

What helped him? First I give God praise.... our son wouldn't be here without Him and we prayed and I believe He guided us. Second... supplements. Especially cod liver oil. I recommend Green Pastures CLO with the X factor. Check out Dr. Mary Megson's work on the web. http://www.diet-studies.com/megson.html Our Jack healed gradually... but he is healing. I actually had to make myself GET USED TO him not twirling everything any more!

Also check out Dr. Amy Yasko's work. www.holistichealth.com

We give Jack alot of supps - cod liver oil, probiotic, magnesium citrate, tart cherry and recently we added cilantro. He takes some other things too but each child is unique. It helps to find a good naturopathic MD or chiropractor.

Don't give up. There is hope! And... I will be frank here.... many mainstream doctors know squat about how to heal autism. Don't let that throw you. There are people who do know how to help. God bless you! Love, Jack's Mom :)
