Since what your nipple is designed to do is to feed a baby, I don't find it weird at all, my daughter is 14 months and still nursing stong. Check out some local La Leache League meetings for questions concerning breastfeeding before you have your baby, or you can contact a lactation consultant for help and questions. Good Luck!!!

also most hospitals have childbirth classes and breastfeeding classes. they are usually free.

It is the most natural thing in the world!
And it also helps you to bond with your baby!
It hurts a bit and you might get a bit sore but you can buy nipple cream!

it does hurt for the first little bit, but once you've learned to get your baby to latch on properly and your baby gets the hang of it, it won't anymore

when its your own baby its not weird at all. bf has helped me bond with my baby so much and am glad i chose to do it, it dose hurt a little, mainly when ure baby is learning to latch on properly but after bout a week its fine and they do a great range of nursing products to keep u comfy. i think anyone whos concidering bf should atleast try it to stary wiv, if u bottle feed then change ure mind its v hard to reverse!

Well Devinn my baby girl is almost 5 months now and she is still nursing, I am not going to lie to you, it does hurt it hurts pretty bad those first few days, then after that it is nothing except for when the baby bites you that kinda hurts, My daughter is teething so I am dealing with that right now. And I dont think it is weird at all to have her nursing from me, it is a wonderful experience and great time to bond with your child, just think about it NOBODY else will get to experience the closeness and bonding that you get to feel when you nurse her, just think about it I mean it is well worth it.

Heck yeah it hurts for a few days but it's way worth it when you don't have to deal with all the colds and ear infections.I had four babies and I nursed everyone and am still nursing my 2year old....just a little. He's really about weaned. But no colds. I only stopped with one of mine early at six weeks of age and they started having cold and ear infections. Ended up having to have tubes in his ears.
And it really is true if you learn to get your baby latched on right it won't hurt hardly at all. And that just takes practice and maybe when your in the hospital you can get a lesson from an experienced mom.
Good Luck and enjoy your baby as mush as you can. You will miss the babyness when they get older....at least I did.

When breastfeeding it will not feel wierd. It will feel right, this is what God intended. This is what breasts are for. If you have a boyfriend or husband I feel that your breasts will now be off limits to them and belong to the child. Yes, it is wierd to have someone suck on your nipples but it is for the nourishment of the child.
