i was breastfeeding and supplementing, but my baby has started to get nipple confused and falls asleep while nursing and theres a million other things,so i just started to hand pump and give that to him,and i usually can pump about 3 oz in no time, but this morning i wanted to see how much i could really get out,so i end up pumping 6 almsot 7 oz in under 15 minutes! and all by my hand! all i could think of is wow we ladies are amazing! anyways...

I express with a pump - but I could get 8 oz in about 15-20 minutes at 1 week postpartum... I've heard that's a lot. I've since tried to back it up a bit and not make so much. Now I'm making about 3 oz in 15 minutes since I've stopped pumping so much. I only pump 2-3 times a day at most.

I use to be able to pump 4 oz. in 20 minutes but then I stopped pumping religiously every day. There were times when I would only pump one time that day and sometimes not at all. I have since now started pumping religiously again and on day 2 I am now pumping 1.5 oz. so hopefully it continues to go up. If it doesn't continue to rise I think I will talk to my doctor because I heard that there is a pill they can give you that can help. But I also read that there are a few herbs that can help with milk production as well.
