hi, ive been breatfeeding my son for 3 months and he has never had any formula. when he was about 6 weeks if i occasionly had to nip out i would leave some breatmilk in a bottle for him. as he took it i assumed he was fine with the switchova but now im thinking about work and he wont touch a bottle anymore, have tried all sorts of bottles, teats shapes and sizes but nothing works, has anyone else had this prob, has anyone been sucsessfull with cup feeding or syringe feeding, i really need a solution! please help

my son was the same way, i couldn't get him to take a bottle for nothing! have you tried a soft spout sippy cup? Nuby makes a good one. i think advent makes some too. also check out this link for tips on how to bottle feed a breastfed baby. http://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumpin

My daughter had the same problem. What you do is this. If there is someone else that could give your son the bottle, he'll take it. You see he smells you so he'll always choose you over the bottle. If your spouse can put the bottle in his mouth and squeeze a little out and roll the nipple around in his mouth and make the sucking sound, it works. Playtex nurser with the square soft nipple works very well.

to pastors kid, thankx for ure reply but unfortunatly that dosnt wrk. freinds and family have all tried and hes not having it. ive tried lots of dirrent teats sizes ect, brestmilk i even tried formula (once). the minuite somthing other than skin goes into his moth he will frown and pull a dissaporving face and then cry. i just dont no why he wont do it. he was fine with a bottle to start with then when he got past 8 weeks he didnt want to no!

did u check out the link? if all else fails then i would try a SNS feeder. they are usually used to get a baby latched on when they need supplemented. normally you tape the little tube to your breast and they have your nipple and the tube in there mouth but you can use it by taping it to your finger. have babe suck on your finger and then they will get the milk or formula out of it. hope this makes sense. let me see if i can find a link that has pics and stuff so you know what i'm talking about.
