I have been in a relationship with a wonderful man for the last 2.1/2 years...married for the last 4 months. I have always maintained an open mind about his ex-wife until recently. They had 3 kids together and we have custody of his son, while she has custody of the 3 girls. We have recently submitted an application with the courts for 50/50 custody of the 2 girls as they are not of age yet. She has now gone to Maintenance enforcement claiming we owe her over $35K in back child support. My husband paid child support diligently up until she dumped their son off at his house 2 years ago. The lawyers have been back and forth trying to determine who owes who. She makes twice the money he does (he is self-employed), plus gets all the government money for the girls. The lawyers have discovered that she actually owes HIM for having their son, but she won't believe that and refuses to deal with it. Now because there was a court order stating what was owed 8 years ago, she feel entitled to all that money for the last 2 years. The legal system really favors the women in these situations which is so hard considering the kids LOVE their dad and really WANT to spend more time with him, but to her it's all about the money. She was about to sign them over to him during the divorce but learned she wouldn't get any money so she dropped the pen. HOW do you not hate someone who is so selfish and money hungry???? ↓
