Hello all,

I have been browsing through and actually looking for somewhere to post for a few days, i guess i just need to vent and possibly get some advice.

My story is long but to make it short, my son's father and i divorced around 6 years ago, since then i re-married, my husband died at 25 years old, military related, he was an amazing husband and step-dad.

My son's father and i were (what i thought for a while) friends, when my husband died him and his GF totally turned on me, my son's father is a control freak and always wanted to have control of almost everything i did with our son, whether it was when to take him to the doctor, haircut, YES this is after our divorce.

My son has been going to a private school since nursery, he is going to be 10 yrs old this month, i want to put him in a different private school, if i cant i will have to put him in a public school (i really rather not since where i live our school district is the worse in the nation).

Through out the years my son's father has threatened to take my son away from me, (i am by no means diagnosing him, but bi-polar ism runs in his family) and he changes his mind all the time, he is currently fighting with me on my son's education.

I pretty much had enough of his controlling ways and always having everything his way, i am going to consult a lawyer to see what my options are, since we got divorced we did things our way, we have had our own schedule, yet as our son is getting older it is getting more difficult as his dad does not agree with almost any decision i make, especially on his education. After all this time, i never thought it will go this far, i though we'd remain friends and work together for our son's future, instead i am having to most likely go to court, this is a scary step for me, my son and i have been through a lot already.

Thank you for letting me share.
