My concern:
Is it beneficial to a 9 month old child to be moved between both parents I.e. two days here - 2 days there etc. or should there be more stability in the childs life at this age?

I think that your child will become confused!
Maybe you could suggest that he has the child at weekends that is a bit better than 2 days here and 2 days there, you need to have a routine going with a child that is at such a young age if you do weekends than he/she will know that he/she is going with daddy today, rather than waking up thinking who am i going with today.
If you are not togeather then it is important that both parents are happy and can try and get along otherwise the child will not be happy. It rubs off on them!

I think that would be bad! If it is joint custody you are looking into I agree with the old fashion, maybe once a night and every other weekend. Although at 9months the baby might not be able to be away from mom the whole weekend, or dad whoever is primary care giver..
