Ok I know I know I need to be patient, but really it is so hard when I cant sleep cause I am just dreaming about going into labor, and hoping that it will happen soon! My doctor told me on Wednesday that if I where to go into labor this week that she wouldnt stop it. I have been walking like crazy and having sex. I just know that I am so ready for her to be here! The lack of sleep is driving me to be so emotional and grouchy, I feel for my husband! My everything hurts, and this heat is just making me miserable. Even being inside under the a/c it is still so hot cause the heat outside is so bad. Please any tips on bringing this on would be greatly appreciated. BEFORE I GO INSANE LOL!!

Hate to tell you this but they published a study at pregnancy weekly this past week that said women who had sex later in pregnancy to stimulate labor actually delivered later than women who didn't. I know how you feel. That's why with my son I turned to castor oil. My gf and I who were due at the same time decided to give it a try. She ended up with severe diarrhea and delivered on her own two weeks later. I delivered that night, after I had some loose bowel movement. Castor oil will only work for baby\ies that are poised to come (ie conditions must be ready for delivery) and there is the risk of also causing bowel movements in the baby before delivery. (This did not happen to me). I know it's frustrating and you want your baby in your arms not still inside, but it may be for the best.

Yea Petrona I know I just need to be patient but gosh I am just so miserable. How many weeks where you when you drank the castor oil?

Uhmm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your lack of sleep wont be getting any better when the baby comes out. Try your best to get as much rest as you can cause as far as I can remember the last time I got a full night's sleep was 5 years ago. The day before I went to labor with my first child. I now have 2 kids (one of which .. the 5 y.o. is the worst sleeper in the whole universe) and am also 8 weeks pregnant with the 3rd kid which even makes it harder to sleep. Oh well ... good luck anywaY.

Thanks and good luck to you, I know the sleep wont get better but at least I will be able to sleep on my belly and back again. Well CONGRATS to you on your new baby. And good luck!

don't drink the castor oil it can make your baby poo too early and this can be harmful if he/she swallows it. My mum is a midwife and she would kill me if she knew i took it . Why not try raspberry leaf tea or kerb walking, this is where you walk along the kerb with one leg on and one off. My mums advice your baby will come when your body is ready. I tried pineapple, sex, spicy food and the oil but nothing has worked. The more you want to go into labour the longer you wait, well thats my theory. Im due today but they tried to do a sweep monday but it didon't work. Be patient she will come

I tried the respberry leaf tea myself . Infact I drank that like there was tomorrow the week that I was due because there was no way that I was going to go another week. I actually did end up going into labor and my son was born on his due date.

have you tryed evening primrose oil? It is a natural progesten that starts to soften your cervix.

Ashlie, Sorry for the delay in responding (went camping this weekend) I was 38 weeks when I took the castor oil, 1 cm dilated, 50 % effaced.

A well known method of bringing on delivery where i come from is putting a couple of spoonfuls of mustard into a bath, i know a few women that have tried it and it has worked for them, why not give that a go, its a bit nicer than the castor oil method

Gosh Ashlie I cant believ its time for you to have ur baby! It dont seem that long ago when you were telling me you were havin a girl. i think we have talked almost throught out it all. You have no idea how excited i am for you! You are in for a treat. Being pregnant and being a mommy is two diffrent things. You are going to have a lot to learn when your baby comes out. That is some advice nobody gave to me. I thought that my baby would come and everything would just come naturally. And I thought since I carried my baby inside me for so long that I would know exactly what my baby needed and when! Yea thats not the case. So when BaBy Veronica comes into the bright bright world. Enjoy getting to know her. One thing thta really does come naturally is LOVE and PATIENCE! Good luck sweetie! By the way felling any better?

Hey Angela thanks so much and we have been talking through almost my whole pregnancy. I am doing ok just not sleeping at all!!! I am exhausted and emotional. I want her here so bad that I feel as if I am going crazy! I know that patience is a virtue but it is just getting so hard I am so emotionally, physically, and mentally drained. I am just so anxious for my little girls arrival, and I know that she does not come with a hand book but I am sure I will do okay! Oh and I was doing some squats last night then I started having minor contractions but nothing to major. I hope she comes soon, I have about 14 days to go YAY!

Squats? At 9 months pregnant? LOL!! You have got to be crazy. if I tried to do squats when I was nine months pregnant I would have probably fallen on my butt. I could barley walk let alone do some squats. hehe! Dang I am not even pregnant anymore and I still cant do squats to well!! hehe!! So you are doing fine. I totally understand how you are feeling! It will be over soon enough. Believe it or not in a few months you might even miss being pregnant. I did with my first. Anyways!! I will talk to you later! IM if you get a chance!

So I went in today for my regular appt. and she said that my cervix is soft but thick and closed. GRRRR! Oh well I told ya she will come when she is ready. BYE
