hi dotti i am only 19 and dont remember how i used to eat when i was 13.but right now i dont like food at all no u aint the only one who do this i also chew and spit out the food i dont know why and how i got this idea is cane of nasty but i do it it makes me feel bad cause theres lots of kids in africa who are dieing of hunger and me who have it all who could eat every day dont eat well i eat but not healthy!i wish i stop doing this but i cant! ↑ |

Try eating foods like pudding and jello where you don't really have to chew and that will maybe make swallowing easier and once you're used to that you can gradually add more solid foods like cottage cheese,grapes,bananas,macaroni and cheese,and then once you're used to those go for something bigger like a McDonald's hamburger and a shake or a shake and fries.One step at a time! Yep i had a room mate that did that. I never understood why she did it but, it never seemed healthy so i took her to see someone, and now she is healthy and happy and i see her twice a year. :D. Go to theropy, or get some help. ↑ |
i do that chewing and spitting thing too. its not that i cant swallow, its just that you can taste the food but u dont have to swallow it and take in all of the calories. its disgusting actually but i do it sometimes ↑ |
hey- im backwards... i started doing that when i was anorexic and it eventually led to my uncontrolable bulimia when i accidently swallowed what i was about to spitout... ew, lol.
it is actually common though, when i told my therapist i thought she was going to look at me like im nuts and she only knodded and said shes seen it a lot... ↑ |
