I understand exactly where you are coming from! i was the same way!!!! No one understands but you! I go to therapy once a week and it is a life changing miracle!!! I mean it is not going to cure you in one day or one week, but you have someone there to talk to who understands! They not only listen, they find ways to help you understand why you started this, and what are your triggers. They never put you down! They kinda just are there for you to help figure you problems out and give you advice along the way!!!! My therapist's advice was things I never thought of ! Then When she said them I was like why didn't I think of that!!!! Don't worry alot of people don't understand!!! That's why it is good to have places like this to come to!!!!! If you need to talk email me at [email protected]!!!

dear hayles! Did you read a topic from ex-mom, who lost her daughter dur to her bulimia. Try to find that ad. It made me cry because I have a daughter who is struggling with her bulimia and she can't stop it herself. Next week her and I are going to the clinic designed working with teens with their ED. My daughter told me about it and I'm so thankful that she did. Because I understand deeply inside how she and all who has this problem may feel. I even myself struggle with my weight issues through my whole life, so all I want is to help her. You shouldn't be ashamed at all, it's a reasonable and deep problem in our society to look cetain way and there a pressure associated with that. So all you need to do is to get every little help you including the loves one who will help you to get better at that. All the best to you!

Speaking to you as a mother of a 16 year old daughter who has anorexia right now all I can say is please tell your parents!!! Anorexia is a little easier as a parent to pick up on since I could always see that she was restricting her intake of food. She has only been restricting for 5 months and has already starting having heart problems. She didn't want to but we were basicly told by the cardiologist that she had to go into treatment immediately or she could die of cardiac arrest at any time so she has been in treatment for almost 2 weeks now. Anorexia, Bulemia and all other disorders are very very difficult to get over without help. They are a psychological disorder and they are not actually about food at all that just happens to be the way you are dealing with underlying issues you may have that cause you to want to control it through bulima. Our daughter has a long way to go to get better but if I didn't get her the help she needed when I did she could have died. Your body can not handle you purging like you are adn there are long lasting severe consequences to your system for it as well. How old are you? You really need to let your parents get the help you need because you can't try to do this on your own. You will likely need to get on a prescription of some sort to help with the obsessiveness about feeling guilty when eating and you would benefit GREATLY going to a psychologist who specializes in eating disorders. As a mom I beg you to tell your mom and really want to get better so they can get you the help you need. If you need to talk write me back. My post is under Trying to help my daughter. I'm not really sure how this thing works.

A concerned Mom, Teri

if you can't tell your folks then find someone , say a school counsler to talk to everything you say to them is confidental, but you need help don't be ashamed of what you do or feel guilty, its not in your control eating disorders are a genunie problem that need attention and help. You are depriving your body of nutrients it needs and can cause all kinds of short and long term health problems if done consistantly you can also rupture your esphogous which is painfull and you can die from also. Besides it can't be good to feel this way , you must want to feel free of this overwhelming drive to do this to yourself i know the cycle i have been there i was more bulimic though , i have 5500 dollars worth of dental work inlcuding two root canals that led to painfull facial infections among other things. Parents usually have a hard time understanding this so like i said seek out a counsler they can get you the neccasary help and the right person can help better explain your condition to your parents.

hey Hayles, baby girl you will lose weight from what you are doing but maybe you should think about the repuccussions this what you are doing can kill you. i went through this and baby i nearly wish it had of killed me. i went through it for 5 years and now i am sick all of the time from it i can't ea anything i want to eat and i get really bad pains from it. in short my stomach is really messed up and unless i get hit my a truck or something it will bw what kills me. if you want to lose weight the best way is to eat three healthy meals a day and exercise and the weight will fly off you oh and also if you do want to lose weight don't eat after 7 o clock at night.

You will lose weight, but by the sounds of this you are my age or a little older? 11-16? I suggest you DON'T tell your parents but perhaps try talking to someone you trust maybe not your best friend but someone you know is responsible and will give you proper advice. Or even a teacher at school can sometimes be better than parents. Obviously one you like and know quite well.
