I am a public school teacher and I know how you must be feeling. I see horrible things day in and day out. I am sorry that your experience hasn't been all that you'd hoped for. However, I can also tell you that the same problems will exisit at every single school, public or charter. The students who are sent to charter schools are the same students who used to go to public schools. You will find that there are still groups and drugs. I also taught at a private Catholic school where I thought drug were more prevelant than what I see in the public school I now teach in. Drugs, violence, and groups are everywhere. I suggest you try other public schools as well, maybe your current one just wasn't a good fit for you. I wish you luck! ↑ |
I love my charter school! way better than any public school, everyone is so nice!! a Charter school is a homeschool basically they give work to do over a certain amount of time and they offer classes, I go to the classes all the time and everyone is so nice and they act like they actually care because a lot of kids who left the highschool is because of the same reasons you did! ↑ |
Hi i would like to chat with public schools .... ↑ |
Charter school are better. teachers are held responsible for their actions or lack there of and can not cover their asses with the "I am union and you can not fire me" excuse.
I went to Caholic school on scholarship, and never once was around drugs as Michele mentioned, nor were any of my friends. My cousin who on the other hand attended public school, tried pot and cocaine. All made readily availabe at her school by freinds. Charter schools have more control in holding teachers and students accountable that makes a big difference. Good luck to you Lisa. ↑ |
