Im think of not sending my little boy to pre-school...But i still want him to have the advantages of kids that go to pre-school. Has any mom/dad tried this before?? What should I do with him?? What activities/outings would be appropriate for a child his age??

You know, preschool is something of a new thing...before, kids just learned at home (just like before public schools, kids just learned at home...lol). Teach him his abc's and 123's, to color (and learn them) in lines and draw (teach him shapes), to tie his shoes and button his tops, to speak his feelings rather than throw a tantrum, and to learn proper social edicate (cover your mouth when you sneeze and wash your hands). Gosh...what more...maybe take him on a field trip to the zoo, to a museum for kids, etc. Simple, and all in the security of mom's love...

I am doing the same thing! I can't afford to send my little one to preschool because it is so darn expensive ( l live in CA) so since I am a stay at home mom, I just keep him home with me. But I feel like I'm not teaching him enough by him being at home with me. He isn't talking very well so I have him in speech therapy. Any suggestions??

I have been homeschooling my son since preschool. he is about halfway through kindergarden right now and he just turned 5 at the end of november.
I pretty much set him up with a schedule like he would have at school and we worked on things he would have learned in preschool.
I found if you go to yahoo and search for free homeschool lessons...Their are many thing you can get. Free worksheets...free crafts...free lesson plans.... He is just now 5 knows his numbers to 100 and is reading, spelling, and writing...He can also add and subtract some numbers.....he knows all his colors and can pretty much do anythin a kindergardener can do.....
I have found that when he starts to get restless and loses the ability to focus that If I let him go and play for 5 minutes he will come back to the table refreshed and ready to work again...Sometimes it just takes that little time to get the energy out ....Their are times when I am done and he asks to go on...he dosn't want to quit....He absolutly loves school..
It only takes a little time and work to make this happen. But it is possible and worth the extra time.
Good Luck Everyone.
