to answer your Question, Adhd Is considered a Learning disability.. i myself have adhd and i was in special education .
i have been diagnosed with adhd since 4th grade and i am now 33 yrs old . i also receive Social security benefits for my learning disability . the wa state medical board found me totally disabled (lifelong disability), it is not something to can improve.

The school my children go to consider Add/AdHd to be a learning disability, as well it should be.

i think it depends on the kind of adhd you or your child has and it depends how it effects that person. There are many different forms of adhd and it effects everyone differently. My son is 8 and at first needed to be monitored constantly at school now not so much. I think that adhd is a learning disorder but each case needs to be treated differently.

yes it is an LD...not sure how it works in the states but in canada we can get help finacially from ODSP(ontario disability support program) it is sure handy...they help cover the cost of different things...sometimes they cover the whole cost..full dental and drug benefits...thank god for them.

ADHD is not a learning disability. However, most people with ADHD have learning disabilities, especially for reading & language related learning.

I agree that ADHD and ODD is a learning disabiltiy because my son has it and he is in a special 1st grade class with slower paced kids. He is very bright too he just needs that extra one on one help and it takes him longer but once he learns something he has it. I hate when people say that it is not a learning disability when they really don't have a clue. As they don't have a clue about O.D.D. which is not a learned disability there is something really wrong with him. He is very aggressive (when he is not on his medication) and horrible to live with. I am trying to get my son on social security and am still waiting to see when we go to court to find out (I am getting help from a lawyer)as I don' t think that his life will be an easy one and we need the extra financial help for him. It is a daily struggle for the people with ADHD and the parents who have to take care of them.

My son has severe ADHD and does not qualify for special classes because ADHD is not a learning disability. He is not learning disabled. He is focus and impulse control disabled.
