Today I let my 2 dogs out in the backyard. Which is fenced in. Then my grandmother called me and wanted some help, and she lives a block away, so I figured I wouldn't be gone very long. So I let the dogs stay playing outside.
I came home and the dogs were gone!!!! I started freaking out!! My one neighboor took his dog and started looking for Toby and Nika, and then some of my family and friends were looking for them.
Thank god I found them about an hour later, and only 3 blocks from my house (they ended up at our best friends dad's house).
But when I got home, I was checking the fence out, and outside of our gate we always keep a shovel propped up, kinda to tell us if the dogs have been pushing on the door. IT IS GONE!!!!! I have a feeling that the neigboors on the other side, moved it and let the dogs out. The hate our dogs, because they are big. I am so mad, but so gratful that I found my babies. When I saw them I jumped out of the car and dropped to my knee and started hugging both of them!! If I find out that she let my dogs out, so help me god!

You are so lucky! I'm glad you found them. You do get a scare when you come home and your dogs are missing. I had that happen once, my dog dug under the fence. I was lucky she went to the neighbors house. I was frantic though! You may want to install a inside lock so that if the neighbors did let them out they wont be able to do it again.

neighbors can be a good thing when you see eye to eye, but if you don't they can make life real hard when you have fur babies. Try to get to know them and attempt to get them to like the dogs. I would defiantly put a lock on the gate. Good Luck!! So happy you got them back.

Go get her Dani!!!!! That is a horrible thing to do! : (( My neighbor did the same thing one time. We found all 3 of them around the corner wedged into a tiny dog house with a puppy lol. Good thing the puppy's owner had a sense of humor! Our rotten neighbor's front door faces the side of our house so when we got home our whole family (dogs included) spent the afternoon sitting on the property line staring them down LOL!

Anyway, after that we trained them with treats to come directly to the front door and bark instead of going on a walk about.

My husband is going to work on the gate today.
She hates that my dogs are outside so much. But they LOVE to be out in back running around and playing. She has 2 little dogs that she has litter box trained so they don't go outside, and my dogs bark at her, and they are big. I am just so glad that I found them and that they were okay.
But this woman drives me crazy. Last year so started to kinda yell at my oldest daughter, for gathering acorns, because she hates squirels because they dig in her yard, so this year I am putting a squirel feeder in the front on the propery line.

The other thing that scared me was that when Toby gets loose he comes to the front door. Nika has never gotten loose or been off her leash outside of the fence, so I know that it was Nika taking the walk and Toby just followed her.. The cool thing was that they stuck together, thank-God

Momof3 did you get that lock on the fence?

Yes! But the gate door is too big and it pulls on the fence post. So my husband has to fix it. I wanted a big gate so that we would never have a problem getting bigger things in the backyard, so he made it really big for me. But like I said it is to heavy for the post. So he got the stuff today and will be doing that in the morning.

Yes!!! I was so flippen scared yesterday. I am driving around looking for them, crying my eyes out. Then I am thinking, "Oh if I don't find them, and they don't come home, they will be all along at night" and that started my tears all over again. If I had, had some steaks in the freezer last night, they would have had them for dinner.
