Jeffnjasharstad- Be sure to start obediance classes with your new pup. Boxers are verry high strung and energenic cant describe the boxer! Start while she is young, if you dont, trust me you will kick your self later.

I have a boxer that is approximately 2 years old now. I rescued her from a local shelter. She was a little over a year old at the time. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body but she is extremely energetic. She has a hard time just sitting still unless she is sleeping. She is an escape artist. We think this is probably how she ended up in the shelter. We keep her inside with us most of the time but have to keep her in 1 or 2 rooms at a time because anymore space and that is way too much stimulation. She is always happy, excited, and silly. I love her dearly but not sure what to do as far as calming her down. You can fuss at her and she just thinks we're playing. Any suggestions?

Sure lahuero, the only thing you can do for her is long walks and a lot of play to tire her out! take her to play groups with other dogs so she can burn some energy. You could put her in agility courses, boxers do real well in agility! Not only boxers but most dogs need to have some thing to channel thier energy if they dont they will get in to things, chew, dig and become unlikeable dogs! Thats why many people enroll thier dogs in such classes to keep them happy and healthy! Boxers are hyper high strung breeds they have so much energy so they need a lot of stimulation and excersize to help keep them calm.
