Howdy hi everybody. Myself (26 year old) and my wife (24 year old) are trying for a baby right now. We've bought everything from ebay before she's even pregnant so rest assured we plan ahead :-) - my question is to anybody that owns an Old English MAstiff. How much does it cost you to feed the big brute?

I want to budget for a MAstiff, to see if can afford one alongside the buba. I know what he'll cost to insure, but everywhere I look on the net, I get different prices to feed. I'd be pouring dry food down his gullet because our two Burmese cats seem to enjoy that and my old Retriever certainly got healthier after I took away his cans of meat. Plus of course, since growing up a bit and realising how badly some farmed animals are kept (destined for the value section of the meat counter) I think it's in pretty bad taste to care for your own animal so lovingly, while feeding the thing meat from some poor tortured miserable farm.

Am I going on a bit too long? Anyway, the question is: what does it cost to feed an old english mastiff?

i think it dependsa on where you live and the price of the food you are going to buy you figure for a dog to be 150 pounds or more that is 9 -12 cups of food a day. to it will take a 40 pound bag every 2-3 weeks. i hope this helps

Your trying for a baby now, and you want to get a dog?
So will that dog be a puppy when you have a new born baby?
A puppy and a newborn in the house is insane.

Id wait till the child is a toddler, then get a puppy, they will grow up best of friends
