MY dog Toby was a submissive urinater and we under up sending him to puppy boot camp. (Not just for that, but for other training) and when he came back, he was great. Now almost 2 years later, he has only done it a few times, when he was really scared! ↑ |
The way to cure it is to not greet him when you or he comes in the house. Do not talk to him look at him or touch him! Once he is in the house for a few minutes and calmed down then you can pat, talk or how ever you greet him. ↑ |
It's not me greeting her that gets her going. It's when she sees another one of our pets, or hears my son, or sees a piece of food on the floor lol. She is so difficult. I can't go around and hide the other animals and quiet my son and pick up anything exciting everytime I bring her in. I have tried sticking her in her kennel as weel, but she is just super excited when I do let her out : ( ↑ |
The peeing is because she is over excited. As you said she does it when you bring her in from out side. Do you have another entrance to the house that you can bring her in through, one that she doesn't normally come through? By changing the routine she may not associate the new entrance with what excites her in to peeing. This may help I know with some dogs it does. ↑ |
I haven't tried that. I usually just bring her into the kitchen b/c thats where their kennels are. She was doing so good for a couple months. I don't know why she keeps regressing. I will try that Lindalu. Thanks a ton. I hope it works : D ↑ |
Our cocker spaniel was like that, she's 10....it took years for her to stop doing that...good luck, the best thing is to ignore her when she's excited, it helped with us. ↑ |
Randi hows the peeing, did the use of another door help? ↑ |
