How serious is the pit bull overpopulation problem? The documentary "Off the Chain" asserts that 3 million pit bulls are euthanized in U.S. shelters every year.

I don't have pits but I follow most of those rules with my dogs. We were taught when we wanted animals that we were the owners and therefore responsible for what our pets did. We had a small terrier growing up and I swear every time you turned your head she would go dig in the neighbors yard. We did more yard work acrodd the road than we did at home. But we didn't get rid of the dog we tried to watch her, but being children we would forget and off she would go. But we repaired the damage and apologized.
