We currently have a Bernese Mountain dog who is 2 and I would like to get another large dog, any suggestions. I was thinking a German Shepard, but my boyfriend wants another Bernese.

Bernese are awesome. I wouldnt recommend getting a German though. Some other great breeds are Mastiffs, St.Bernards and Great Danes. Good luck!

I was thinking of a st. bernard but my boyfriend said that he wouldn't be able to stand so much drool, but our dog now drools so bad. I think that he is stuck on another bernese, but i would like a change

Have you lookes that the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog? The have the same coloring of a Bernese but not so much hair. I peronally LOVE Mastiffs Never had one, my husband doesn't like them, but if drool is a problem look up Flying W Farms. They breed mastiffs.

My favorite large dog is the Great Dane. They are so sweet!

Yeah, but Great Danes are really clumsy. I knew someone who had one and ever time the dog was excited it used to knock things over and whip you around the legs with its tail.
They are nice dogs though. If you like keeping a pony in your house!

I like Great Danes to, but I have little ones and I have a feeling they might get knocked over alot.

What about a tibetan mastiff? They are loyal, friendly, loveing and great companions. They are huge and require alot of grooming but as far as I can remember they dont really drool. I had one back in 98. Got him from the shelter and rite away he acted as if I had him since he was a puppy.

we do have siberian husky puppies for free. It will be nice for any family because now is winter. Get back if interested.

Where are you located. I am in Nova Scotia. I contacted a breeder about a Greater Swiss Mountain dog. The closest breeder is in Ontario, but they ship here. My boyfriends brother has a siberian husky and they love her to pieces.

My brother has 2 Berners, and they are great! You can always look into a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog if the fur of the Berner is what turns you off. The Swissy looks and acts just like a Berner, but with short hair.
