We did the tnr with 2 of our cats except we did'nt have the heart to release them after they were fixed and medicated. They have lived in my house for 2 years now and we still cant touch them. They dont jump anymore when we pass them but we feel so bad for them. Its too late to release them and when its freezing outIm happy they are warm. AnyIdeas on taming them??? tx's

Well, you could get some toys and try to interest them to play. Get the kind where the toy is on the end of a bit of string which is attached to a stick then you'll be able to flick it around for them to chase.

Buy some cat treats and try to entice them over to you.

Be assured that your cats probably love you more than you realise and are grateful for the home you have provided for them. I got a cat from a rescue shelter a few years ago and she wouldn't come near to me at all but she always takes a quiet interest in what's going on in the house, brings us presents of dead birds and follows my youngest son around. She watches his cot each night until he's asleep then comes downstairs - she's devoted to him and he's the only one who can tickle her - he's only 21 months old!

Cats don't like to show their feelings at all and can take a long time to come around and be your friend. Don't give up though - just try to appreciate them for who they are :-)

to tame a feral cat: since they have been in the same house with you, im sure they have figured out, your not a threat. try to lure them to you with a treat. once yuo get then to eat out of your hands, you will see preogress from then on. then try to hold your cat. wrap them in a towel, or blanket if need. be completely sure they have no dieases tho. anyways hold your kitty, and gently pet yuor cat, and sweet talk to her. the set her down geltly, and repeat later. you can also, put your cats in a small room, [bathroom] turn off the lights [this has a calming affect] and then confront them, and very gently , with two fingers pet them. petting an animal reminds it of its babyhood, when thier loving mother would lick them. make sure the lights are off though, you dont want to scare your cat, and then lose ALL trust . see, the difference between cats and dogs, is, dogs love you no matter what, but cats are like people. you have to earn thier love. hope this works! oh ya, and while your petting your kitty in the dark room, have lots of treats! like fresh tuna, and shrimp, and chiken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this works well!!!!! hope i helped!!!!!!!!

You've had them in your home for two years and you STILL can't touch them? That's incredible. It takes dedication and patience to tame a feral cat, which you obviously don't have. Take them to the humane society so someone who knows what they're doing can help the poor things.

If you're unable to catch them and take them with you, then perhaps you should call some animal rescue people.
