Yeah, she isn't so young that she's incapable of giving birth to a healthy litter successfully. But normally breeders are asked to wait till the bitch is in her 3rd year, at least with Cavaliers. Just do as much research as possible. I'm sure all will be well. :) ↑ |

Hi Jblunts, I'm new to the forum and saw your post. I am a veterinarian and happen to LOVE pit bulls! :) I think your baby will be okay. Dogs are amazing parents and she will probably get thru her labor and delivery with flying colors. Most mama dogs know what to do instinctively. However, since she is still a pup herself, she may have some trouble passing the babies if they are too big. So, when it's time to deliver, you can be on hand to help, if needed. Your job would be to just help her pass the pups, but ONLY if needed. Lots of lube, gloves, gentle help, and it's no sweat. :) Accidents happen, don't they? Trying to keep a male dog away from a female in heat is near impossible. :) Take care, Libind ↑ |

Well, my baby had her babies. No problem. She didn't even make a noise. I woke up to the sound of puppy at two-thirty in the morning. She only had two. One boy and one girl. Both nice size and beautiful. thanks for your advise. ↑ |
